Your Purpose Isn't Singular

Today was a rough day, and for no particular reason other than having a migraine or maybe a tension headache and my uterus shedding. I read this quote that basically said there are so many people who come out the gate thinking they know what their purpose is and what they're here to do. I can look back and recall so many times where I've latched onto a purpose and thinking, "This is it! This is what I'm meant to do." Then, a couple weeks or months or years later feeling disconnected from it. Then, I had this realization that what we're meant to do doesn't have to be one thing. We are complex beings and we can be here to do many things. Those things can be different- moment to moment, person to person, interaction to interaction, experience to experience. I've always been one to do many things. I once, in grad school, had 3-4 different jobs at once. I worked full time, had a full time school schedule, an internship, part-time marketing work with a beverage company, coached basketball at weekend & school break camps... all at once. Then, after grad school, for five months, I worked two full time jobs at the same time while I started dating someone. I've always had multiple things going on at once and have always been fulfilled by multiple different things, have liked different types of music & activities. I have always felt different having so many different types of interests and friends.

The same goes for the concept of dharma and passion. You can have multiple things that you're passionate about at the same time. Life is not singular, it is not binary. It is multiple. It is coexisting. So if you're feeling lost or if you feel like your purpose keeps changing or you're in a moment where you don't know what you're doing - just trust where you are in that moment and what you're mean to be doing in that moment. For me today, that's resting and potentially writing, but my physical body is tired- I have pushed her to her limits this week. I need to find balance. Hope this resonates with you - honoring where you are in each moment and what your purpose is in each moment. In the grand scheme of all that is in this existence, all that is within your soul, and that you're meant to be.

So, thank you to those who have supported me on this path and who allow me to express freely without judgment, who let me figure things out on my own, who don't put me in a box and allows me to grow within their mind and in our friendship. Super grateful for growth, change, rest, new insights.

Much love. Peace.
